How to Cast a Write-In Vote

1) DO NOT VOTE A STRAIGHT PARTY TICKET!!!

Voting a straight ticket will void the write-in vote.  Since there are cross-filed people on the ballot, with a straight party vote you will also unknowingly be voting for members of the other party.

2) Use a paper ballot.

It is much easier to do, and unlike the electronic machine where there is no paper trail, this method keeps a permanent record of your vote in the event of a machine failure.  With the electronic machine, if it fails, your vote can be lost!

3) In the box "Supervisor East Cocalico Twp" fill in the box next "Write-in"

4) Write in my name as it appears here - "Ken McCrea"

Be sure to write clearly so they can easily read it!

The other sections of the ballot all get filled as usual.

I will have these instructions available on cards at the polling places on election day.

Your vote really does count (the primary was decided by only 18 votes), so please take the time to come out and vote on election day, Tuesday November 3, 2009.  The polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM.

Thanks,

Ken McCrea
