[Short Version. Click here for Detailed Version.]
General Issues:
- Protect the rural nature of our community
- Plan for the future, rather than just planning for unlimited growth
- Manage growth responsibly through changes in zoning and development ordinances
- Involve the public in decision making, both on current issues and for our future
Specific Proposals:
Land Planning:
Involve Township residents in decisions on land development
Direct the Planning Commission to review all land development plans for long-term impacts.
Preservation of farms within the Township.
Take steps to ensure we retain the rural nature of the Township.
Modify the “Village Overlay” zoning to prevent the creation of dense urban areas.
Prevent the Water and Sewer Authority from launching their plan that will require Township government to promote rapid population growth.
Create actual recreation areas with the recreation fund.
Public Involvement:
Keep public informed on proposed development projects.
Seek public input on land development projects during planning.
Use the Township newsletter to keep public informed on current development projects.
Post signs on property where development is proposed.
Keep public informed about projects that will cost the taxpayers large sums of money.
Keep public informed about the long term impacts of rapid development.
